Desktop Support Technician

Our client is seeking an experienced Desktop Support Technician to provide onsite end user support during a staff transition. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for desktop, Microsoft 365, printing, and basic networking support. The ideal candidate will have strong technical troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service abilities, and experience supporting users in a professional office environment.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Device Setup & User Onboarding

  • Configure and deploy Windows laptops, preferably Microsoft Surface devices
  • Set up new user accounts and workstations
  • Configure Outlook, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Assist users with onboarding and technology orientation

 

Microsoft 365 Support

  • Troubleshoot issues related to Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft Office
  • Perform password resets and account administration
  • Support Multi Factor Authentication (MFA)
  • Resolve user access and authentication issues

 

Printing Support (Critical Skill)

  • Configure and troubleshoot network printers
  • Support printers utilizing static IP addressing
  • Resolve print queue, driver, connectivity, and performance issues
  • Coordinate printer installations and user access

 

Desktop & Hardware Support

  • Diagnose and resolve issues with laptops, desktops, peripherals, docking stations, and other end user devices
  • Install, configure, and support software applications
  • Perform hardware replacements and basic repairs as needed

 

Basic Networking & Connectivity

  • Troubleshoot Wi Fi connectivity issues
  • Understand IP addressing and basic network troubleshooting
  • Assist with network connectivity issues affecting end users and devices

 

Customer Service

  • Provide professional, high touch support to end users
  • Communicate technical information clearly to non technical users
  • Deliver a positive customer experience while managing multiple support requests

 

Required Skills

  • Experience supporting Windows 10/11 environments
  • Strong Microsoft 365 troubleshooting experience
  • Printer installation and troubleshooting expertise
  • Basic networking knowledge including IP addressing and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Surface devices
  • Experience supporting office environments with multiple network printers
  • Previous desktop support, help desk, or end user computing experience

 

Additional Information

  • 100% onsite position
  • Immediate need with expected start in late June
  • Initial engagement through the end of September with potential for extension
  • Schedule consists of approximately 35 onsite workdays totaling 280 hours
