Communications System Installer
Summary
The Communication System Installer is responsible for installing low voltage systems and cables as required for commercial enterprises.
Essential Functions
· Performs pulling, routing and terminating CAT-6A, CAT-6 and CAT-5 cables in a commercial environment
· Performs pulling, routing and terminating fiber cables in a commercial environment
· Dresses and terminates distribution frames
· Performs testing cable/troubleshooting
· Installs support structures (cabinets, ladders, racks, j-hooks, sleeves)
· Installs electronic fixtures (AP’s, switches, UPS, speakers, horns, projectors, cameras, and other electronics)
Additional Specific Duties and Responsibilities
· Performs Server Room Rack and Stack
· Install low voltage cabling based on BICSI standards
Required Qualifications
· Familiar with BICSI, EIA, TIA and NEC Standards
· Must own your own basic telecom tools and personal protective equipment
· Must have a reliable vehicle and valid driver license. Some positions require a clean DMV record
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
· Valid Alabama Low Voltage License including Contractor’s License ( must have )
· BICSI (or other manufacturer) Technician Certification
