We are seeking an Automation & Integration Engineer to provide consultative, hands-on support for a financial services organization evaluating and implementing AI-enabled automation platforms, including n8n.

This role focuses on practical implementation and integration, not full AI architecture design. Prior hands-on experience with AI platforms, workflow automation, or AI-assisted integrations is required. Direct n8n experience is highly preferred but not mandatory.

The ideal candidate brings strong integration and coding fundamentals, understands how AI-enabled tools fit into business workflows, and can help a client assess, implement, and operationalize automation solutions responsibly.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation and integration workflows using AI-enabled platforms (including n8n)

• Integrate AI-driven services (e.g., LLMs, AI APIs, intelligent document or data processing) into existing systems

• Build and maintain API-driven integrations, webhooks, and data transformations

• Contribute hands-on code using Node.js / TypeScript or comparable backend technologies

• Configure, extend, and troubleshoot n8n workflows as part of pilot or production use cases

• Provide technical guidance to stakeholders on platform capabilities, limitations, and appropriate use cases

• Implement error handling, logging, retries, and data integrity controls

• Support platform evaluation, proof-of-concepts, and early-stage production deployments

• Document workflows, integration logic, and operational considerations for ongoing support

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience in backend development, automation, or integration engineering

• Demonstrated experience working with AI platforms or AI-enabled services in applied, real-world use cases

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript and modern backend development practices

• Hands-on experience with REST APIs, webhooks, and third-party system integrations

• Experience with workflow automation platforms (e.g., n8n, Zapier, Make, Airflow, Power Automate, or similar)

• Ability to research, evaluate, and apply new platforms independently

• Solid understanding of authentication and security patterns (API keys, OAuth, secrets management)

• Experience supporting integrations in environments with data sensitivity or regulatory considerations

Highly Preferred

• Prior hands-on experience with n8n in a consulting, pilot, or production setting

• Experience integrating AI/LLM services (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) into workflows

• Familiarity with financial services, credit unions, or regulated environments

• Experience with self-hosted or cloud-hosted automation platforms

• Comfort advising clients during early adoption of new platforms
