Bookkeeper

We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of a growing software-based business. This role is responsible for managing subscription-based revenue, reconciling payment platforms, and maintaining accurate financial records within a recurring revenue environment. The ideal candidate has experience working with SaaS financial models and understands the nuances of revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and subscription billing.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Recognition and Deferred Revenue

• Manage subscription billing and accurately track monthly recurring revenue (MRR). Maintain deferred revenue schedules and ensure proper revenue recognition in alignment with accounting standards.

Payment Gateway Reconciliation
Reconcile daily and monthly transactions from payment platforms such as Stripe, PayPal, or similar tools to bank statements and accounting systems. Investigate and resolve discrepancies as needed.

Accounts Receivable and Payable

• Oversee customer invoicing, collections, and subscription billing processes. Manage vendor payments, including SaaS-related expenses such as cloud hosting and software subscriptions.

Financial Reporting

• Prepare and maintain monthly financial statements, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets. Support reporting on SaaS-specific metrics such as customer acquisition cost and revenue trends.

Month-End Close and Compliance

• Assist with month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data. Prepare documentation and reports to support tax filings and audits.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 or more years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably within a SaaS or subscription-based business model
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online
• Experience working with payment platforms such as Stripe, PayPal, or similar systems
• Solid understanding of recurring revenue, deferred revenue, and subscription billing workflows
• Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred

• Experience with SaaS billing platforms such as Chargebee, Recurly, or similar tools
• Familiarity with SaaS metrics and financial reporting in a high-growth environment
