Procurement Manager - Industrial Components
Position Summary:
Responsible for procurement of technical (Electrical & Mechanical) materials, components, supplies and services as required to meet customer order and delivery commitments from the inside sales and production teams.
Standard Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Review and analyze ERP and other related reports to procure materials, services or supplies from vendors.
2. Enter, issue and process purchase orders to vendors.
3. Manage all aspects of the purchase order life cycle for assigned vendors, past dues, line-item revisions, pricing discrepancies, delivery promised dates, rescheduling (in/out), cancelations and quantity changes.
4. Request and analyze supplier quotes
5. Assist with supplier negotiations to get best possible pricing.
6. Qualify and maintain approved Vendor List, monitor vendor performance by measuring quality and delivery history.
7. Assist in determining disposition for materials and services identified as non-conforming from Quality/Operations.
8. Compile, analyze and look for root cause irregularities in ERP system to engage IT for support resolution.
9. Work with the warehouse team on receiving discrepancies and early shipments resolution.
10. Handles transportation of materials corporate wide.
11. Performs ongoing evaluation of vendors and products.
12. Assist finance and sales with overall inventory management to ensure optimal stocking levels.
13. Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.
Requirements/Qualifications:
1. BS Degree or equivalent preferred.
2. Minimum 5 years purchasing experience in a fast paced, industrial environment
3. Leadership skills for planning, problem solving, setting direction and building relationships
4. Technical knowledge of inventory practices for manufacturing/distribution environment.
5. Effective communication skills with peers, management, employees and vendors.
6. Self-motivated; takes initiative.
7. Team player, works cooperatively with others to solve problems and willingly helps others when assistance is needed.
8. Experience with Dynamics 365/Business Central is a plus
