Director of Civil Engineering

We are seeking a Director of Civil Engineering to provide leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for multiple project teams, maintaining full accountability for the delivery, quality, and profitability of civil engineering projects—including site design, stormwater management, utilities, and permitting—while mentoring staff and advancing departmental goals. This position leads teams of varying sizes to meet project and organizational objectives; manages budgets, proposals, schedules, and billing; and oversees workload forecasting, resource planning, and staff development. The Director prepares and reviews technical reports, designs, and calculations, and ensures the technical accuracy of all documents produced by staff. Additional responsibilities include supporting business development and marketing initiatives, conducting site visits, representing the firm at client and agency meetings, managing department-level forecasting and performance reviews, and staying current with evolving design standards, technology, and regulatory requirements. The role also involves close collaboration with IT and company leadership to enhance technology integration and improve internal processes.

 Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required (Florida preferred, or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 10–15 years of experience in civil site design, stormwater, utilities, and permitting.
  • 5+ years of supervisory or project management experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with civil/structural analysis software.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplined teams and manage complex projects.
