Electrical Engineer
Job Description
Essential Functions

Analyze machine functionality and develop detailed functional specifications.

Design complete electrical systems for custom machinery.

Select appropriate electronic components and hardware.

Create electrical panel layouts and related documentation.

Produce schematics and all required engineering drawings.
-
Manage workload proactively to meet design and release deadlines.
-
Collaborate closely with controls programmers to ensure machine functionality aligns with specifications.

Support service and assembly teams with electrical debugging during machine build and occasionally at customer sites.
-
Identify and report machine or facility safety concerns to the department manager.

Develop and maintain electrical standards for panel construction and machine assembly.
-
Contribute to the creation of service and operating manuals.

Participate in research and development efforts for new products.

Assist controls programmers with software testing for new product concepts.

Support the Service Department with troubleshooting via phone or on-site at customer facilities.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; or a two‑year technical degree plus five years of experience in electrical control systems.

Experience or familiarity with SolidWorks preferred.

Proficiency with AutoCAD required.
Technical Skills & Abilities
-
Strong ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot electrical drawings and engineering software outputs.

Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 79, and UL 508A standards.

Understanding of mechatronics, machine control sensing, and servo sizing.

Proficiency with standard office software, including Microsoft Office.

Ability to support assembly personnel and colleagues with machine function and design questions.
