ID/OD Grinder
We are seeking a highly skilled ID/OD Grinder Machinist who takes pride in precision work and thrives in a detailed, small shop environment. This is not a high-volume production role. We are looking for a true machinist — someone who understands tight tolerances, complex setups, and the craft behind precision grinding.
If you are meticulous, experienced, and prefer quality over quantity, this opportunity is built for you.
What You’ll Do
-
Set up and operate ID and OD grinding machines for precision components
-
Grind parts to extremely tight tolerances (±.0001” or tighter)
-
Work from complex blueprints and engineering drawings
-
Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, bore gauges, and precision measuring equipment
-
Adjust offsets and machine settings to maintain dimensional accuracy
-
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
-
Collaborate closely with a small, highly skilled team
What We’re Looking For
-
5+ years of experience in ID/OD grinding in a toolroom or small-shop environment
-
Proven ability to hold very tight tolerances consistently
-
Strong understanding of precision measurement tools
-
Experience with manual and/or CNC grinding equipment
-
Deep respect for craftsmanship and attention to detail
-
Self-motivated and capable of working independently
What This Role Is NOT
-
Not a high-volume production environment
-
Not repetitive push-button machining
-
Not a role for entry-level machinists
What You’ll Gain
-
A stable, precision-focused environment
-
Work that challenges your skill set
-
A team that values quality and expertise
-
Competitive compensation aligned with experience
If you are a grinder who sees machining as a craft — not just a job — we’d welcome a conversation.
