The Pediatric Anesthesiologist is responsible for the evaluation, planning, administration, and monitoring of anesthesia care for infants, children, and adolescents undergoing surgical and diagnostic procedures. This role ensures safe and effective anesthesia, sedation, and pain management tailored to each patient's unique medical and developmental needs while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
š¹ Qualifications
⢠M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
⢠Completion of an accredited Anesthesiology Residency Program
⢠Completion of a Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship
⢠Minimum 3 years of clinical practice experience in Pediatric Anesthesiology
⢠Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
š¹ Required Licensure & Certifications
⢠Nevada Medical License (or eligibility to obtain)
⢠Nevada Pharmacy Board License to Prescribe Medications
⢠DEA Controlled Substance Registration
⢠BLS Certification (required or obtained upon hire)
⢠ACLS and PALS certifications preferred or required based on department needs
š¹ Key Responsibilities
⢠Perform comprehensive pre-anesthesia evaluations and develop individualized anesthesia care plans
⢠Administer general anesthesia, sedation, and pain management therapies for pediatric patients
⢠Monitor patients throughout procedures and manage perioperative care
⢠Collaborate with surgeons, pediatric specialists, nurses, and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
⢠Provide post-anesthesia assessment and pain management recommendations
⢠Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical excellence initiatives
⢠Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices in pediatric anesthesia care
