What we're looking for?

We need a 3rd-5th year associate with strong complex litigation experience, excellent research and writing skills, and stellar academic credentials from a top law school. You should be comfortable with a high-stakes, in-office team environment and have a track record of handling sophisticated legal matters.


Bonus points if you have prior federal judicial clerkship experience or a proven interest in environmental law.


What you'll do:

  • Handle sophisticated matters ranging from cutting-edge litigation to complex regulatory matters and enforcement defense.

  • Take ownership of legal research, writing, and preparation for court appearances and trials.

  • Work closely with partners such as Navi Dhillon, Sean Unger, Deborah Schmall, Chris Carr, and Peter Meier on diverse cases.

  • Develop and apply litigation skills, including motion practice and court appearances, through hands-on experience with the team.

  • Contribute to cross-office and cross-departmental work, gaining exposure to various clients and matters.

Salary
$260K - $365K (Paul Hastings offers lockstep compensation. The base salary for this role is competitive and on par with other peer firms, ranging from $260,000 to $365,000, depending on the year of experience. For a 3rd year associate, the salary is $260,000; for a 4th year, it's $310,000; and for a 5th year, it's $365,000. Associates are eligible for bonuses based on meeting a minimum of 2000 hours, with up to 100 hours of pro bono work counting towards this total. )
