Banking-related/Foreclosure Staff Attorney

Location: Portland, ME

 

Our client, a prominent AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking a skilled and motivated Staff Attorney to join their team in Portland, Maine. This is an excellent opportunity to develop and deepen your expertise while working in a collaborative and supportive environment.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
  • Bar Admission in Maine required; admission or eligibility for waiver to the Massachusetts bar is desirable.
  • 2–4 years of substantive experience representing lenders in mortgage foreclosure actions in Maine and Massachusetts.
  • Strong writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a commitment to team collaboration.
*Candidates without the requisite experience but eager to learn will be considered.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent lenders in mortgage foreclosure actions, managing all aspects of cases from inception to resolution.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Maine and Massachusetts foreclosure processes.
  • Communicate directly with clients to provide updates, address inquiries, and deliver strategic legal advice.
  • Draft legal documents, conduct legal research, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with firm attorneys on complex cases and provide support to the broader litigation team.
