Maintenance Manager/Supervisor

La Salle / Ottawa, IL (beautiful location on the Illinois River.  It's only an hour from the Chicago suburbs such as Naperville).  

As the Maintenance Manager at this site you will oversee all installation, repair, and upkeep operations at the site. You and your team of 10 direct reports will be responsible for maintaining machinery, developing maintenance procedures and ensuring all production lines run efficiently.

• Lead and supervise maintenance personnel, processes, and operations to meet production output targets.
• Train staff on troubleshooting and maintaining labelers, coders, fillers, and mechanical components.
• Manage the maintenance department’s budget and track expenses.
• Ensure all machinery is proactively maintained and functioning properly.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve equipment issues.
• Oversee safety protocols, repair schedules, and maintenance logs.
• Manage the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program and relationships with contractors.
• Maintain equipment stock and handle supply orders as needed.
• Drive continuous improvement strategies for equipment reliability.

What it takes to be considered:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • A minimum of a High school diploma/GED required
• At least 3+ years of experience as a maintenance manager, supervisor or team leader.
• Working knowledge of PLC and servo systems.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong leadership, organizational and time management skills
