Are you a top-performing business development professional in the chemical industry? We’re seeking a high-impact Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand our client’s customer base for custom chemical blending, private label formulation, toll manufacturing, and contract packaging services.

 

This is a high-reward, entrepreneurial role designed for a results-driven sales leader who excels at building long-term relationships, crafting technical solutions, and closing complex, multi-million-dollar deals. This position is home office-based, with preference for candidates in the Houston metro area, and requires up to 30% overnight travel.

 

This is a lucrative opportunity where top performers consistently earn $250-300K+ per year.

 

Essential Job Functions include:

  • Drive new business growth by identifying, developing, and securing chemical blending and toll manufacturing contracts with OEMs and chemical manufacturers across North America.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to build and manage a robust, sustainable sales pipeline.
  • Engage with senior-level stakeholders (R&D, Operations, Quality, Purchasing, and Supply Chain) to understand customer needs and deliver tailored manufacturing solutions.
  • Collaborate with operations and plant management to evaluate project feasibility and align production capabilities.
  • Deliver persuasive sales presentations and proposals that clearly communicate technical and commercial value.
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to expand reach and build brand visibility.  
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and account data in CRM systems (Salesforce or similar) to support forecasting and growth tracking.  
  • Travel 30% or more (as needed) to drive new business growth.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 5+ years of proven success in sales or business development within chemical toll manufacturing, contract blending, specialty chemicals, or private label chemical services.
  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding sales goals and closing high-value accounts.
  • Broad knowledge of commercial and industrial chemical applications, including but not limited to: HI&I, Cleaners, Agriculture, Oil and Gas, Water Treatment, Metal Finishing, Lubricants, CASE, and other Specialty Chemical markets.
  • Established relationships with key decision-makers across relevant specialty chemical sectors.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and self-motivation.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM platforms.
  • Comfortable with uncapped, performance-based compensation structures.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 30% overnight or more (as needed).
