A Unique OT Opportunity with Variety

We are seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist for a unique full-time opportunity in the Elmira, NY area.

This position initially offers a 50/50 split between the Elmira City School District and an outpatient therapy setting, giving you the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population while enjoying the variety of both school-based and clinical practice.

Approximately half of your time will be spent working with students in the Elmira City School District, while the other half will be in an outpatient setting treating both pediatric and adult patients.

There is also potential for the position to transition to 100% school-based or 100% outpatient in the future, depending on the candidate's interests and how the role develops.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist who enjoys pediatrics but would also like to maintain or expand their experience working with adults.

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate patients and students and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans.
  • Provide occupational therapy services in both school-based and outpatient settings.
  • Work with pediatric and adult populations.
  • Assess needs related to activities of daily living, positioning, mobility, adaptive equipment, splinting and assistive devices.
  • Develop measurable treatment goals and monitor patient progress.
  • Fabricate or recommend orthotic, splinting and adaptive devices when appropriate.
  • Complete evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes and other required documentation.
  • Collaborate with physicians, educators, families, caregivers and interdisciplinary treatment teams.
  • Educate patients, families and caregivers regarding treatment plans, home programs and adaptive strategies.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of occupational therapy programs and services.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in New York State.
  • Experience working with pediatric patients or in a school-based setting is preferred.
  • Outpatient, hospital or other clinical OT experience is also beneficial.
  • Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Initially 50% school-based and 50% outpatient
  • Potential to eventually move into a 100% school-based or 100% outpatient role based on your interests
  • Opportunity to work with both pediatric and adult patients
  • Greater clinical variety than a traditional school-based or outpatient-only OT position
  • Full-time position with a stable healthcare organization
  • Collaborative rehabilitation team
  • Competitive salary of $70,990.40 – $87,360
  • Opportunity to broaden your experience across multiple patient populations and treatment settings

If you're an Occupational Therapist looking for a position that combines the rewards of school-based pediatrics with the clinical variety of outpatient therapy—and the flexibility to potentially focus on the setting you prefer over time—we'd like to hear from you.
