We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager to oversee and drive significant projects within a dynamic MEP construction environment. This is a full-time, onsite role based in Sacramento, California, with a focus on delivering high-impact mechanical construction projects.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will lead projects from inception through to completion, ensuring project goals are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. This role involves managing all aspects of project delivery, from scheduling and budgeting to coordination with various teams and stakeholders. The position requires a robust understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to mentor and develop junior engineers and project managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical construction projects, managing all phases from planning to closeout.
- Oversee schedules, budgets, and financial performance, ensuring project milestones are achieved.
- Coordinate with owners, general contractors, field leadership, technical teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Identify potential risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support estimating, value engineering, constructability reviews, and procurement processes.
- Mentor and guide Project Engineers and less experienced Project Managers.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical construction project management.
- Background with self-performing mechanical or MEP contractors is highly preferred.
- Strong expertise in HVAC, mechanical/process piping, and plumbing systems.
- Proven experience managing complex commercial, healthcare, or industrial projects.
- Proficiency in forecasting, cost control, change-order management, and contract administration.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Familiarity with project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive base salary ranging from $150,000 to $185,000, depending on experience.
- Monthly truck/car allowance between $400 and $600, plus a gas card.

Travel Requirements
