Leading manufacturer of parts and components used in the automotive build and they have an opening on their team for a Staff Accountant. This role is responsible for cost accounting and budgeting activities with a primary focus on inventory, standard costs, manufacturing operations, intercompany purchases, and departmental budgets. This role supports accurate financial reporting, variance analysis, and budgeting processes within a manufacturing environment.

 

 

Assist in the development and maintenance of standard costs for all inventory items, including new item cost roll-ups, validation of bills of materials, and work center rates.

Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in semi-annual physical inventory counts.

Perform monthly reconciliations of inventory between the general ledger and detailed system records.

Reconcile in-transit inventory for products sourced internationally.

Analyze and report spending, scrap, and manufacturing variances (materials, labor, and overhead) to management.

Participate in the annual budgeting process and prepare monthly actual-to-budget reports for department leaders.

Prepare journal entries, including recurring and reversing entries, with a focus on intercompany transactions and balance confirmations.

Perform work order accounting and variance transactions throughout the month and during month-end close to ensure accurate cutoff.

Support the month-end close process, including intercompany reporting and consolidation submissions.

Perform other duties as assigned.
