💲 Compensation

  • Competitive pay based on experience, starting at $27 per hour

  • Eligible for annual merit increases based on performance

Schedule

  • Full-time position

  • Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

  • Overtime as business needs require

🛠 Role Overview

As a Shop Mechanic, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing equipment, tooling, and fleet vehicles. Your expertise ensures preventative and reactive maintenance is completed efficiently, safely, and to industry standards.

In addition to daily maintenance responsibilities, you may mentor junior mechanics or support machining and welding instruction through Pro U. This position reports to the Tooling and Fleet Manager and requires strong communication, organization, and a passion for continuous improvement.


📋 Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on equipment and vehicles

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues using hand tools and diagnostic equipment

  • Complete fabrication work to industry standards

  • Obtain and manage vendor repair quotes as needed

  • Assist with truck shop parts and supply inventory management

  • Coordinate repairs and warranty work with drivers and management

  • Mentor and train less experienced mechanics

  • Deliver instruction in machining and welding, including schedule coordination

  • Maintain accurate documentation using Excel, Elog systems, and Google Suite


🎓 What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • 5+ years of professional experience in machining and welding preferred

  • Vocational certification or apprenticeship completion preferred

  • Certified Forklift repair
  • Prior teaching or training experience highly desirable

  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

  • Detail-oriented mindset with a safety-first approach


💪 Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for extended periods

  • Climb ladders, stairs, ramps, and scaffolding

  • Work in tight or awkward spaces

  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs

  • Work in varying weather conditions

  • Traverse wet, uneven, or moving surfaces

  • Ability to wear required PPE
