Position Summary

This position serves as a shift subject matter expert for critical HVAC and mechanical building systems, ensuring maximum reliability, uptime, and performance in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will possess advanced troubleshooting skills, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to respond quickly to system issues affecting facility operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial HVAC and mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair:
    • Air Handling Units (AHUs)
    • Make-Up Air Units (MAUs)
    • Exhaust ventilation systems
    • Chilled water and hot water systems
    • Pumps, motors, VFDs, valves, and associated mechanical equipment
  • Monitor and respond to Building Automation System (BAS/BMS) alarms to maintain continuous facility operation.
  • Diagnose HVAC, refrigeration, airflow, and mechanical system failures using sound troubleshooting techniques.
  • Partner with Electrical, Controls, and Maintenance Technicians to resolve complex equipment issues.
  • Perform equipment inspections and execute preventive maintenance activities in accordance with established schedules.
  • Accurately document work performed within the CMMS.
  • Support commissioning, startup activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and all site safety requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other maintenance team members when needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial or large commercial HVAC maintenance experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills on complex HVAC and mechanical systems.
  • Experience working with Building Automation Systems (Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Trane, or similar).
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong understanding of pumps, motors, bearings, belts, controls, and mechanical equipment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely perform physical maintenance activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industrial manufacturing experience.
  • State HVAC Mechanical License or Journeyman certification.
  • Experience with predictive maintenance technologies.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Familiarity with battery manufacturing, automotive, or other advanced manufacturing facilities.
