THE OPPORTUNITY

Pro Services Workforce Solutions has partnered with an industrial adhesive manufacturer to fill a direct hire opportunity for a Maintenance Manager at their Mesquite, TX facility.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you'll lead maintenance, reliability, and capital project work for a site that makes food-grade hot melt adhesive and runs around the clock. You'll lead a team of seven technicians across three shifts. This role is built for a people leader with a maintenance background: someone who can get on the floor and troubleshoot alongside the team, then coach, delegate, and build a department that works hand in hand with production.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

The Mesquite plant is a 70-year-old facility that has been owned by the company for 50 years. It runs equipment from the 1970s and 80s alongside brand new packaging lines and robotic palletizers, and about 80% of the equipment is not specialized. The equipment is in good shape, and capital projects are already in place to keep updating the building.

This is one of the most recognized sites in the company. The team has broken record after record over the last 18 months, draws regular visits from the VP and CEO, and is a site other locations look to when they train their own people. The culture expects results and has real camaraderie, and leadership has been intentional about making it employee-focused, from steak cookouts to holiday parties.

Safety is a priority here. A dedicated EHS manager works with all three shifts, walks the floor often, and partners closely with maintenance on lockout/tagout and fall prevention. The site has had one very minor recordable this year.

Pro Services is working to fill this role for the customer, and we stand behind this team as a place where a strong maintenance leader can make a real impact and build a long-term career.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

You're a servant leader. You bring 5–7 years in maintenance leadership, ideally as a manager, though strong supervisor experience counts too. You came up through maintenance, so you can walk up to a breakdown, help your team think through the problem, and make a plan, without grabbing the tools and doing the repair yourself. Your job is to teach, delegate, and develop people so the whole team gets stronger.

You build bridges. You believe maintenance and production are on the same team, and you communicate in a way that brings people together. You keep conversations focused on solving the problem, not on who is to blame. You model the behavior you expect, including stopping work when something isn't safe and looking out for the people around you.

You're patient with change. You know a team has to trust you before it will follow you, so you take the time to learn the people, their strengths, and the equipment before introducing new ideas. You're results-driven and optimistic, you use data to track progress, you make decisions and act on them, and you get to the root cause of problems.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

■    Lead and develop a maintenance team of seven technicians across three shifts. Most of the crew works 1st shift, with technicians covering 2nd and 3rd shift on their own.

■    Champion safety and stay compliant with environmental, health, and safety requirements. Partner with the EHS manager on LOTO, fall prevention, and stop-work authority.

■    Get on the floor to support mechanical, electrical, PLC, and automation troubleshooting, then coach and delegate the repair to your team.

■    Use the plant CMMS (MVPOne) to plan, schedule, assign, and track work, and grow its use so that all maintenance work runs through work orders, not just PMs.

■    Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs that reduce reactive work and improve reliability and OEE.

■    Build strong working relationships with production and other departments, and keep communication open across all shifts.

■    Oversee budgets, contractors, spare parts, and cost controls.

■    Lead capital projects, including budgets and resources, as the site continues to update its building and equipment.

■    Over time, implement continuous improvement through Lean, TPM, 5S, DMAIC, and FMEA.

■    Support equipment such as hot oil and water boilers, steam systems, chillers, vacuum, roller, and belt conveyors, mix and hold tanks, pumps, baghouses, pelletizers, robotic palletizers, and packaging equipment, with electrical from 24 VDC to 480 VAC.

WHAT YOU BRING

■    5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing, as a maintenance manager or supervisor.

■    A hands-on industrial maintenance background, with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues alongside your team.

■    Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field, or equivalent experience.

■    Knowledge of CMMS and ERP systems and industrial equipment reliability.

■    Proven project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.

■    A safety-first mindset and the ability to hold others accountable for safe work practices.

■    Ability to work full-time, on-site in Mesquite, TX.

NICE TO HAVE

■    Manager-level experience leading a maintenance department.

■    B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

■    Experience with SAP and MVPOne CMMS.

■    Process Safety Management (PSM) experience.

■    Lean Manufacturing or TPM experience.

■    Six Sigma or other continuous improvement experience.

■    Experience in the chemical industry or with batch processing.

YOUR FIRST SIX MONTHS

■    You won't be expected to change everything on day one. The first few months are about learning the team, the people, the processes, and the equipment.

■    Around the six-month mark, you'll start digging deeper into the CMMS and Lean practices and leading change at a pace the team can absorb.

■    Site leadership, including an experienced engineer who knows the plant's controls, will be there to support you as you settle in.

PAY AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

■    $100,000 – $130,000 base salary, based on experience.

■    The plant runs 24/7. Some areas are hot, wet, or in tight spaces.

■    Required PPE: steel toe boots, uniform, safety glasses, bump cap, and hearing protection.

■    Non-union facility.
