Revenue Cycle Interface Analyst with RCX

We are seeking an experienced Senior Revenue Cycle Interface Analyst to support and optimize charge flow and revenue cycle integrations between our clinical systems and third-party billing platforms, including athenahealth. This role is responsible for ensuring charges are accurately generated, transmitted, monitored, and reconciled across systems, with a strong focus on RCX (Revenue Cycle Extracts) and interface troubleshooting.
The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of revenue cycle workflows, interface engines, and charge routing logic, and thrives in complex, multi-system healthcare environments.
Key Requirements:
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for RCX charge extracts and revenue cycle interfaces
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to charges “stuck,” failing, or not transmitting to downstream billing systems (e.g., athenahealth)
- Analyze end-to-end charge flow from clinical encounter through billing system ingestion
- Configure, maintain, and optimize interface logic, routing rules, and transaction workflows
- Review interface queues, error logs, and extract files; perform reprocessing as needed
- Partner with revenue cycle operations, IT, vendors, and interface engine teams to resolve complex issues
- Ensure accurate reconciliation between source systems and third-party billing platforms
- Support testing for upgrades, enhancements, and new integrations
- Document interface workflows, troubleshooting procedures, and build standards
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts as needed
Key Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle systems or interfaces
- Strong hands-on experience with RCX (Revenue Cycle Extracts)
- Proven experience supporting third-party billing system integrations, specifically athenahealth
- Deep understanding of charge generation, charge routing, and billing workflows
- Experience troubleshooting interface failures, data mismatches, and transaction errors
- Familiarity with HL7, flat file interfaces, and/or API-based integrations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and operational stakeholders
