The Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition of goods and services. This role oversees supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and purchasing operations while supporting organizational goals related to cost control, quality, risk management, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Lead and manage procurement activities across departments to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier consolidation.
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers through competitive bidding and negotiation.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and service-level agreements to achieve optimal value.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance, including issue resolution and continuous improvement.
- Oversee purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and approvals to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and services while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and operations to support budgeting and forecasting.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, ethical standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage contract compliance, renewals, and documentation.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and disruptions.
- Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze procurement data to track spend, supplier performance, and savings.
- Prepare reports and metrics for leadership related to procurement performance.
- Implement tools and systems to improve procurement visibility and efficiency.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Proven experience in supplier negotiation and contract management.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, CPIM).
- Experience in a regulated environment (healthcare, government, nonprofit).
- Familiarity with ERP and procurement systems.
