Epic IRIS/Bridges Analyst

IR is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Epic IRIS and Bridge Analyst to join our team.
The Epic IRIS & Bridges Analyst is responsible for supporting the core data and integration infrastructure that powers the Epic electronic health record (EHR). This role maintains and optimizes the InterSystems IRIS database environment while also managing Epic Bridges interfaces that connect Epic to external systems. The analyst partners with application teams, technical teams, and operational stakeholders to ensure reliable data flow, system stability, and high‑quality integration performance across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
InterSystems IRIS Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize the IRIS database environment supporting Epic.
- Perform routine database administration tasks including journaling, backups, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Support IRIS upgrades, patches, and environment refreshes in coordination with infrastructure and Epic teams.
- Troubleshoot database performance issues and collaborate with server, storage, and network teams to resolve them.
- Maintain documentation of IRIS configurations, maintenance procedures, and operational standards.
- Ensure database security, access controls, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Epic Bridges Responsibilities - Support, maintain, and troubleshoot Epic Bridges interfaces, including HL7, FHIR, flat‑file, and API‑based integrations.
- Monitor interface queues, error logs, and message flow to ensure timely and accurate data exchange.
- Collaborate with application analysts and external vendors to resolve interface issues and implement new integrations.
- Assist with interface build, mapping, testing, and validation for new projects or system enhancements.
- Participate in upgrades, version changes, and interface migrations.
- Maintain documentation of interface specifications, workflows, and data mappings.
General Responsibilities - Provide support for database and interface‑related incidents, participating in on‑call rotations as needed.
- Work closely with Epic application teams to understand workflow changes and their downstream data or interface impacts.
- Support integration‑related project work, including requirements gathering, design, testing, and go‑live support.
- Participate in change control, governance, and release management processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, automation efforts, and best‑practice development.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience with InterSystems IRIS or Caché database administration.
- Experience supporting Epic Bridges or other healthcare integration engines.
- Strong understanding of HL7, FHIR, and healthcare data exchange standards.
- Working experience with IRIS for Health
- Proficiency with Linux/Unix environments and command‑line tools.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non‑technical teams.
- Epic Bridges certification or accreditation.
- Epic IRIS/Caché DBA training or certification.
