Interventional Cardiologist – Alamogordo, New Mexico

A leading healthcare employer in Alamogordo, New Mexico is seeking a BC/BE, fellowship-trained Interventional Cardiologist to join its growing cardiology team. This full-time, permanent position will expand access to interventional cardiac care and reduce patient transfers for procedures. You'll have a fully equipped cardiac cath lab, modern hospital resources, and a supportive clinical team, with about 500 cath and angio cases a year.

The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with cath lab procedures starting at 6:30 AM, clinic starting at 10:00 AM, and a preferred clinic volume of 20 to 25 patients a day. Procedures include coronary angioplasty and stenting, right and left heart catheterization, diagnostic coronary angiography, pacemaker and AICD insertions, generator changes, lead revisions, loop recorders, and reading stress tests and echocardiograms. Call is shared. Candidates must hold or be eligible for an unrestricted New Mexico medical license, and experience is preferred.

The base-plus compensation model offers earning potential of $900K and up, along with a sign-on bonus of up to $100,000 and a quality bonus. The package comes with 40 days of paid leave a year, made up of 27 PTO days, 8 sick days, and 5 CME days.

Alamogordo is a family-friendly community in the Tularosa Basin, about 15 minutes from White Sands National Park and its more than 100 trails for hiking, mountain biking, and ATV riding. Cloudcroft, a 27-minute drive, offers forest trails, elk and deer, and cooler summers. El Paso is 1.5 hours away, Ruidoso is an hour, and Albuquerque is three hours.
