Plant Manager

The Plant & Operations Manager holds full responsibility for the performance, stabilization, and strategic 
development of our El Paso manufacturing site during a post-acquisition transformation phase.
This role combines end-to-end site leadership with strong hands-on operational management across a 3-shift 
(24/5) operation. You will oversee Production, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, EHS, and Materials/Logistics, 
ensuring the plant delivers excellence in safety, quality, efficiency, delivery, and cost performance.

Beyond operational execution, you will rebuild leadership structure, strengthen accountability, and embed 
continuous improvement while partnering closely with the local CEO, HR, and stakeholders in Germany to execute 
the site’s transformation and modernization roadmap.

Responsibilities: 
 
Site Leadership & Strategic Direction
• Act as the primary leader of the El Paso production site with full accountability for operational 
performance and long-term development
• Define and execute the plant’s stabilization and transformation roadmap, including modernization, 
capacity planning, and investment initiatives
• Develop annual goals, KPIs, and budgets aligned with company strategy
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement
• Serve as the main point of contact for corporate leadership, German stakeholders, auditors, authorities, 
and partners
 
Operational Excellence & Production Management
• Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across a 3-shift (24/5) environment
• Maintain strong, visible shop-floor presence (“boots on the ground”) to remove barriers and reinforce 
execution discipline
• Drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, throughput, OEE, material efficiency, and cost 
performance
• Reduce scrap and rework through strengthened process discipline and standard work
• Optimize production planning, scheduling, and materials flow to meet customer commitments
• Embed Lean, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, waste reduction, value stream 
optimization)
• Standardize operating procedures and build a sustainable performance management cadence
Maintenance, Engineering & Technical Infrastructure
• Ensure high equipment availability and reliability through structured preventive and predictive 
maintenance
• Strengthen collaboration between production, maintenance, and engineering
• Lead CAPEX planning and execution for new equipment, automation, and facility upgrades
• Support implementation of digitalization and systems improvements (e.g., 
MES/ERP)
 
Leadership & Organizational Development
• Lead, coach, and align a cross-functional leadership team across production, maintenance, quality, 
engineering, and materials/planning
• Clarify roles, expectations, and accountability to stabilize plant performance
• Develop supervisors and managers, elevate leadership capabilities, and address structural gaps
• Partner closely with HR to rebuild trust, improve communication, and restore a respectful, performanceoriented culture
• Build a strong leadership pipeline and reinforce cross-functional collaboration
• Lead inclusively within a diverse, multicultural workforce
 
Quality, Safety & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations
• Oversee quality management systems, certifications, and audit processes
• Promote a zero-incident safety culture and environmental compliance
• Lead structured safety programs and risk-reduction initiatives
Business & Stakeholder Alignment
• Translate global strategy and transformation priorities into clear local execution plans with measurable 
results
• Operate with strong commercial and financial awareness, even without full
 
P&L ownership
• Align site objectives with global standards and performance expectations
• Represent the site in cross-company initiatives and strategic projects
 
Qualifications:
• Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related technical field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, 
Production Technology)
• Extensive leadership experience as Plant Manager, Operations Manager, or comparable senior 
manufacturing leader with end-to-end site accountability
• Experience leading multi-shift manufacturing operations
• Strong hands-on operational leadership style with consistent shop-floor engagement
• Broad functional expertise across production, maintenance, engineering, quality, and materials/logistics
• Proven track record of driving measurable operational improvements (safety, quality, throughput, scrap 
reduction, cost performance)
• Experience stabilizing and strengthening plant structure in a transforming or post-acquisition environment
• Strong knowledge of Lean, TPM, and modern manufacturing principles
• Strong financial and business acumen
• Excellent leadership, communication, and change management skills
• Experience working with international stakeholders; ability to translate global 
priorities into local execution
• Ability to lead effectively within a diverse workforce; Spanish language skills are a plus
• High resilience, problem-solving capability, and a structured, results-driven mindset
