About the company

Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of advanced composite materials for various industries, including marine and other industrial applications. The Regional Sales Manager will promote & sell composite materials to meet and exceed the planned
budgeted targets while meeting strategic development targets. 
 
Strategy and Objectives:
 
  • The Regional Sales Manager will produce business results by effective and
    efficient delivery of their customers’ requirements.
  • Key Accountabilities
    Meeting and/or exceed Sales budget (team & own).
    Providing accurate & timely customer intelligence, feedback & information.
    Product & Process Qualifications in their region.
  • Key Account Management.
Key Tasks
 
  • Own and lead a clear business development plan for each customer to meet all expectations for timely development of the entire sales process.
  • Formulate, develop and achieve the annual sales budget for their specific region.
  • Provide reliable short- and long-term forecast input from each client to enable high service levels at lean levels of production cost and working capital.
  • Manage and develop current accounts to exceed customer expectations in terms of service and support, optimize the sales potential and control debt management.
  • Produce, further develop and execute the regional sales plan in line with the business strategy.
  • Define, qualify and gain customer approval of the material, product or service.
  • Gather and feedback to the organization important market information on customer, competitor plans and activities to enable important choices for resource allocation to be made profitably.
  • Lead the negotiation and development to ensure the timely closure of prospective sales,
    optimizing the business potential and revenue.
  • Produce and manage formal sales development plans for key regional developments including timelines and clearly defined actions.
  • Provide support to planning, business development, marketing, and technical departments in implementation of business line strategies. This includes intelligence on programs, competitive pricing, customer need, target product requirements and market trends.
  • Provide on time reporting in CRM on regional account activity, sales development and projects, competitor and regional activity and variance to budget / forecast (monthly or as requested).
  • Ensure that technical, commercial and operational actions needed to establish new or changed
    supply to the customer meet all expectations.
  • Provide on time reporting on “key prospective account” development (monthly or as requested).
  • Provide on time visit reports.
    Keep up to date with the latest news/trends in the industry by attending trade shows and utilizing the networking possibilities from these to increase the company’s exposure and client base.
 
Requirements
 
  • Composites qualification (must have).
  • Previous B2B Sales experience ideally within Composite Materials environment (essential).
  • Experience of the identified Region (essential).
  • Technical/Engineering background in composites (desirable).
  • University level or equivalent education in a Technical/Engineering field (desirable)
  • Business related qualification (desirable).
  • Strong negotiation skills, contracts, pricing, etc.
  • Results driven, proactive and good decision maker.
  • Able to build strong relationships with customers at all levels.
  • A passion for providing customers with a very high level of service and support.
  • Understanding of principles of business as they apply to the customer operation.
  • Ability to coordinate & be part of the company’s teams of commercial, operational, and technical people to deliver results to the customer.
  • Mathematically and technically literate.
  • Business English (written and verbal) - essential.
  • Fluency in a key second language would be beneficial, French desirable.
  • Experience in MS Word and Excel.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the region on a regular basis.
