Industry Manager – Data Center
Location: Remote or in-office, depending on candidate location
Travel: Approximately 25%
Position Summary
Our client looking for an Industry Manager to lead business development and strategic growth within the data center market. This individual will bring prior experience working with data center customers and a strong understanding of the technical, commercial, and purchasing requirements of the industry. Experience with rack power solutions is highly preferred. The ideal candidate understands data center infrastructure, customer priorities, procurement processes, and how to position technical products effectively within this market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage relationships with data center customers, integrators, OEMs, and channel partners
- Identify market opportunities and drive new business within colocation, hyperscale, enterprise, and related data center environments
- Understand customer technical requirements and align product solutions to data center applications
- Support sales efforts related to rack power and related infrastructure products
- Navigate customer purchasing processes, vendor qualification requirements, and long-cycle account development
- Act as the internal subject matter expert on data center market needs, trends, and competitive activity
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and sales teams to support customer requirements and market fit
- Help define go-to-market strategies, target accounts, and segment priorities
- Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows
Qualifications
- Prior experience in the data center industry with direct exposure to data center customers and business practices
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure and technical requirements
- Familiarity with data center purchasing processes, vendor engagement, and account development
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to customers and internal stakeholders
- Strong business development, account management, and relationship-building skills
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and drive market opportunities
- Excellent communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with rack power products or related power distribution solutions
- Experience working with hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, or edge data center customers
- Background in electrical products, connectivity, or critical infrastructure solutions
- Established network within the data center industry
