Position Summary
The Reporting Manager leads the Program Reporting Unit and defines the reporting strategy for a major capital program. This role oversees enterprise, program-level, and project-level reporting to provide accurate cost, schedule, risk, and performance analysis to leadership.
Candidates should bring a strong Project Controls background, including experience with Primavera P6, risk tools (e.g., Primavera Risk), cost management systems, Power BI, and data workflows. Experience in Oil & Gas project controls translates extremely well; rail experience is not required.
This is a hybrid role, but the selected candidate must live in or relocate to the Sacramento area. Relocation assistance is available.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Program Reporting Unit and establish reporting strategy, governance, and standards.
- Develop and maintain reporting policies, workflows, templates, and procedures.
- Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual program reporting packages.
- Gather and validate data from project teams to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Identify automation opportunities through Power BI and modern data tools.
- Partner with cost, schedule, and risk leads to support EVMS, cost, schedule, cash flow, and risk reporting.
- Coordinate executive and Board-level reporting with the Financial Office.
- Develop and manage the overall reporting calendar.
- Oversee quality assurance for reporting deliverables.
- Lead, mentor, and manage reporting staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field.
- Experience producing project or program reporting.
- Experience enhancing or redesigning reporting processes or dashboards.
- Experience leading or supporting reporting teams.
- Knowledge of project controls, data management, and reporting methodologies.
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Intermediate to advanced Power BI skills and understanding of data/report models.
- Experience with Primavera P6, Primavera Risk, and cost management systems.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and desktop publishing software.
- Familiarity with capital construction project controls.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Compensation
The yearly base salary range is between $150,000 – $240,000.
This position is open to all experience levels. The actual salary offered may be above or below the identified range and will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, and the location where the position is filled.
