Job Summary

The Assistant Project Manager – Environmental will support environmental clearance and compliance activities for a major infrastructure program in California. This role assists the Project Manager with consultant oversight, document tracking, multi-agency coordination, and ensuring timely delivery of CEQA/NEPA environmental documentation. Remote work is allowed, but the position must operate on Pacific Time hours.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support leadership with consultant oversight, including tracking scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Coordinate CEQA/NEPA deliverables, reviews, comment resolution, and approvals.

  • Manage document reviews, tracking deliverables, approvals, and compliance milestones.

  • Prepare and maintain environmental documents, memos, legal trackers, and post-ROD tasks.

  • Coordinate interdisciplinary and multi-agency communications.

  • Support EIR/EIS documentation and related tracking through preliminary engineering.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant environmental or infrastructure-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating interdisciplinary teams and multi-agency partners.

  • Familiarity with transportation or rail project development phases.

  • Knowledge of federal and state contracting regulations.

  • Experience with environmental policy implementation and post-ROD compliance.

  • Strong understanding of CEQA/NEPA processes, including RODs and NODs.

  • Occasional travel may be required.

  • Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and location.
