General Manager
We are conducting a search for an experienced General Manager to lead one of the Midwest's most prestigious luxury residential condominium communities.
This is a rare opportunity to oversee a nationally recognized historic property that combines architectural significance with five-star resident service. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the General Manager will lead a team of approximately 30 employees and provide strategic oversight of operations, finance, capital planning, historic preservation, facilities, and resident services.
We're seeking a hands-on executive with experience leading luxury residential, condominium, hospitality, private club, or similar high-touch environments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing historical buildings, leading multi-disciplinary teams, overseeing significant capital projects, building strong resident and board relationships, and delivering exceptional service.
- Lead a landmark luxury residential community with an engaged and accomplished resident base
- Manage operations, financial performance, and a rolling capital improvement program
- Partner closely with an active Board of Directors on strategic initiatives
- Build and mentor a high-performing team while preserving the property's historic character
- Competitive compensation: $175,000–$200,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package.
Qualifications:
- Experience managing high-end residential or hospitality properties with a focus on delivering exceptional service and maintaining elevated quality standards
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a large, diverse team across a range of roles and experience levels
- Deep financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, vendor management, and oversight of capital expenditures.
- Direct experience and proficiency managing older or historically significant properties with responsibility for maintaining and investing in building structures and building systems, including coordination with architects, engineers, and service vendors to address facility challenges
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, board members, staff, contractors, public officials and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, take a proactive and entrepreneurial approach, and consistently achieve the highest and best outcomes.
- A track record of implementing systems, processes, and efficiencies that improve service delivery and organizational effectivenes
- Demonstrated success building trusted relationships, resolving complex conflicts, and negotiating effective outcomes with diverse stakeholders, including diplomatically managing challenging resident expectations while maintaining positive long-term relationships.
- Community-minded, with a history of active engagement with neighborhood organizations, civic leaders, and local businesses.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
