Job Description
This quality-focused role inspects incoming shipments, verifies compliance with engineering specifications, and ensures only conforming materials enter production while supporting audits and nonconformance resolution.
Core Responsibilities
· Inspecting and testing incoming components using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, fixed gauges) against drawings and purchase orders.
· Identifying, tagging, and quarantining nonconforming materials while communicating issues promptly to purchasing and quality teams.
· Performing first-article inspections on new or newly sourced products and assisting with supplier and internal audits.
· Maintaining calibration status of all inspection equipment and ensuring rejected material areas remain organized.
· Supporting document control, work-instruction updates, and receiving activities including counting, measuring, and verification of shipments.
· Promoting 5S standards, error-free work, and proactive quality policy support throughout daily activities.
Position Requirements
High-school diploma or GED; 1-3 months related experience preferred. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems. Experience with measurement tools and overhead crane/forklift operation preferred (training provided).
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Regular standing, walking, heavy lifting, and exposure to moving parts and moderate-to-loud noise. Reasonable accommodations available.
