Location: Hybrid role based in San Antonio, Texas, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

Note: You must be licensed in Texas and have around 5 years of insurance defense or personal injury litigation experience. This role is best suited for an attorney who can manage a docket with confidence, communicate well with clients and carriers, and contribute at a more independent level.

Job Description

  • Manage a litigation docket with increasing independence and ownership
  • Review new case assignments and develop strategy from the outset
  • Draft pleadings, motions, written discovery, and case evaluations
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
  • Handle client, carrier, and opposing counsel communication in a professional and timely manner
  • Appear in court, attend mediations, and support trial preparation
  • Evaluate liability, damages, and case exposure to help drive strategy
  • Work closely with paralegals and support staff to keep cases progressing efficiently
  • Research legal issues and apply practical litigation strategy to active matters
  • Contribute as a reliable mid-level litigator who can operate with less day-to-day oversight

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Active Texas Bar license in good standing
  • 5+ years of litigation experience
  • Background in insurance defense and/or personal injury strongly preferred
  • Strong writing, case management, and analytical skills
  • Comfortable managing a docket and communicating with clients and carriers
  • Organized, responsive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced litigation environment
