If you are a skilled CNC professional seeking to transition away from corporate restructuring, broken promises, and the frustration of constantly jumping from one unfamiliar workstation to another, this direct-hire opportunity provides a stable career path. This family-owned, independent custom contract manufacturer has successfully expanded its footprint 7 times over the past two decades. Serving a highly diversified base of industrial clients, the company maintains a remarkably steady project backlog and insulated job security year-round.
The organization reinvests heavily in its manufacturing capabilities, ensuring the production floor is equipped exclusively with new, high-specification technology. Operators here benefit from a highly respected "home machine" program, giving you personal ownership and technical autonomy over your workstation without micromanagement. The team operates under a shared pride in daily craftsmanship, supported by comprehensive employee benefits, steady career advancement, and a stable work culture where employees routinely retire.
What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)
- Perform independent machine setups, adjustments, and operations on CNC equipment utilizing engineering prints, process sheets, and detailed instructions.
- Configure and monitor a high-end machine group, including Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs), Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs), and multi-axis Mazak turning centers.
- Load and inspect custom, tight-tolerance components to ensure finished parts adhere precisely to engineering specs and dimensional requirements.
- Manage your designated workstation by identifying tool wear, executing routine operator-level PMs (such as checking fluids and filters), and maintaining cell safety.
- Coordinate directly with the 2nd shift lead and the maintenance team to maintain high operational efficiency and keep production running smoothly.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)
- 3 to 5+ years of hands-on CNC setup and operation experience specifically working with multi-axis VMCs, HMCs, or vertical/horizontal turning centers.
- A stable employment history showing reliability, solid attendance, and long-term commitment to past employers.
- Strong print reading capabilities paired with the ability to use precision layout tools (micrometers, calipers, thread gauges) to check your own work.
- A proactive mindset with a high standard of personal accountability and independent troubleshooting skills on the floor.
- Full availability for the 2nd shift schedule (Monday – Thursday, 10-hour days) and the lifestyle alignment to pick up highly lucrative, voluntary Friday overtime shifts.
- Technical degrees or specialized CNC credentials are a strong plus, but proven hands-on setup craftsmanship is highly valued.
