Job Title: Utilities Maintenance Planner

Location: Tar Heel, NC

Salary: $80-100K plus bonus 

Job Summary of the Utilities Maintenance Planner: This dynamic dual-role position is at the heart of ensuring seamless operations by overseeing and driving the entire maintenance work control process. You will be responsible for maintenance work, developing detailed job plans, and determining the right parts, materials, crafts, and skills needed to get the job done. As the owner and manager of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) at the plant level, you will be the go-to expert ensuring that all systems run smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you'll support safety programs as required.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Utilities Maintenance Planner:

·         Plan maintenance while ensuring compliance with regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, USDA).

·         Develop and maintain maintenance procedures, prioritize work orders, and ensure materials/tools are available.

·         Review and update completed work orders and machinery history in the CMMS system.

·         Generate reports on work progress, schedules, and personnel vacation. Produce weekly maintenance schedules and forecast workforce needs.

·         Manage MRO inventory, including stocking, parts disbursements, returns, and audits.

·         Train maintenance personnel on reporting procedures and using CMMS software.

·         Assist in contractor qualifications and performance management.

·         Train department personnel in PSM program elements.

·         Organize and maintain information for the 14 PSM elements. Develop and manage a process safety information library in line with OSHA 1910.119. Assist with Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), audits, and compliance tracking. Manage the Management of Change (MOC) Program, track submittals, and develop operating procedures. Perform hazard assessments, assist with Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), and audit the PSM program. Keep PSM and EPA documentation up to date for compliance.

·         Assist with annual program goals, provide reports, and ensure documentation is available for audits. Maintain compliance documentation for PSM and other regulatory requirements.

·         Provide leadership and guidance to employees in the Maintenance Department.

 

Education & Experience Requirements of the Utilities Maintenance Planner:

·         Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.

·         Working knowledge of basic computer skills, Internet and Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.

·         Strong problem-solving skills.

·         Food Manufacturing background, meat processing a plus. 

·         Ammonia refrigeration background a plus.

·         Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

·         Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

·         Experience in the supervision of day-to-day preventive and corrective maintenance, strongly preferred.

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·         Project management software experience is preferred.

·         Knowledge of the CMMS system, preferred.
