Breast Radiologist: recruit for 2–3 eight-hour onsite days per week, through a long-term assignment or full-time 1099 arrangement
Our team is recruiting an experienced Breast Radiologist for a long-term hospital-based opportunity supporting the hospital and affiliated outpatient breast imaging services. Physicians interested in long-term locums or a full-time 1099 independent contractor position may be considered.
Schedule
· 2–3 onsite days per week, with eight-hour clinical days. Specific weekdays and hours will be agreed upon around breast imaging and procedural needs.
· Travel and lodging provided or reimbursed for both long-term locums and full-time physicians.
· Travel time and travel days are not compensated clinical days.
· General diagnostic interpretation may also be available depending on qualifications and departmental needs; any additional reading schedule must be agreed upon.
Clinical compensation and benefits
· $4,000 guaranteed per eight-hour onsite clinical day.
· First 50 wRVUs per clinical day included; $45 per wRVU above 50 per clinical day.
· Travel and lodging provided or reimbursed in addition to clinical compensation.
· Malpractice and tail coverage provided or paid; $1 million per claim / $3 million aggregate.
Full time 1099 physician package
· $50,000 sign-on bonus and $30,000 relocation allowance: $80,000 total package for physicians committing to the full-time 1099 position.
· 3% annual COLA applied to the clinical daily rate beginning on the first anniversary.
· Travel and lodging provided or reimbursed as needed.
Full-time commitment requirements and package terms will be documented in the executed agreement. The supplied full-time package includes the annual COLA; any COLA for a long-term locums arrangement must be expressly agreed upon.
Estimated annual clinical compensation
· Two days per week for 52 weeks: 104 clinical days, approximately $416,000.
· Three days per week for 52 weeks: 156 clinical days, approximately $624,000.
These estimates exclude additional wRVU compensation, sign-on and relocation payments, travel, and lodging. Actual annual compensation depends on the agreed schedule and number of clinical days worked; these are not separate annual salary guarantees.
Breast Radiology Responsibilities and Qualifications
Clinical responsibilities
· Screening and diagnostic mammography; breast ultrasound; breast MRI; diagnostic breast imaging workups and consultations.
· Image-guided breast biopsies and breast localization procedures.
· Other departmental breast imaging and image-guided procedures within the physician’s training, privileges, and scope of practice.
Breast imaging volume
Annual and monthly volumes for screening mammography, diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and breast procedures will be provided to candidates during the interview process.
Technology and workflow
Hospital-based PACS, Dragon Medical voice recognition and dictation, and hospital and affiliated outpatient imaging workflow.
Qualifications
· MD or DO from an accredited medical school; completion of an accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency; ABR Board Certified or Board Eligible.
· Breast Imaging fellowship preferred; physicians with substantial breast imaging experience may also be considered.
· Must meet current MQSA interpreting physician requirements and maintain applicable continuing experience and continuing education requirements.
· Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain one before start.
· Eligible for hospital medical staff privileges and Medicare, Medicaid, and applicable commercial payer enrollment.
· Professional and malpractice history acceptable for hospital credentialing.
Credentialing before start
Required steps include Florida licensure; hospital medical staff credentialing; Diagnostic Radiology and Breast Imaging/Mammography privileges; applicable breast procedural privileges; verification of MQSA qualifications; payer enrollment as required; and primary-source verification of education, training, board status, licensure, malpractice history, and professional references. Credentialing and privileging must be completed before clinical services begin.
