About CABN

CABN is a Canadian climate-resilient modular construction company headquartered in Brockville, Ontario, operating an 85,000 sq ft advanced manufacturing facility. Founded in 2021 by CEO Jackson Wyatt, CABN designs and builds high-performance, mass-timber prefabricated housing.

Mission: to deliver sustainable, climate-resilient, multi-generational building systems designed with uncompromising quality, rapid delivery, affordability, and continuous innovation.

Vision: to lead the global transformation of housing and community infrastructure through high-performance, mass-timber buildings that are fast, scalable, and attainable, without sacrificing design, durability, or environmental integrity.

Our six value pillars — Sustainability by Design, Precision & Quality, Speed with Purpose, Affordability at Scale, Innovation with Accountability, and Partnership & Stewardship — are the lens through which every hire is assessed.

The Role

CABN is hiring a Chief Operating Officer to do three things exceptionally well: multiply revenue, build the team that makes growth durable, and industrialize our production system. You will report to the founder & CEO and hold end-to-end accountability for converting a signed order book into delivered homes, recognized revenue, and defended margins — while scaling an 18-person team through a committed hiring plan, leading an interim span of eight-plus reports until new entity VPs land, and multiplying what our Brockville factory can reliably produce.

What You Will Own

The full revenue-delivery cycle: contract, production slotting, site delivery, handover, collection.

Commercial partnership with the CEO: pricing, unit economics, and growth across B2B, municipal, government, and First Nations channels.

The manufacturing line: throughput, takt, OEE, utilization, and cost per unit — and completion of CSA A277 factory certification.

The automation roadmap: ROI-ranked capital projects in digital fabrication and factory automation, building on our robotics line, from business case through commissioning.

A lean production system with quality built in — exceeding the Ontario Building Code and CABN's energy-performance specifications.

The people system: org design, executive and frontline hiring (including entity VP searches), performance, retention, a trades-and-technician training pipeline with our college partnership, and a safety-first culture.

Supply chain and site delivery, end to end — including FSC-certified mass-timber sourcing.

Operations accountability across the CABN group: factory, project delivery, construction licensing readiness, and Ontario OHSA/WSIB/WHMIS compliance — through leaders you hire.

Your First Year

Multiply revenue against a CEO-set target while holding or expanding gross margin.

Land a committed hiring plan — including new entity VPs — and stand up the leadership team that scales production and delivery.

Scale throughput and cut cost per unit; get a phased automation roadmap approved and phase one delivered.

Complete factory certification and construction licensing milestones.

Institutionalize KPIs, reporting cadence, and documented safety and quality management systems.

Who You Are

Senior operations leadership (COO, VP Operations, GM, or Plant GM) with full P&L or budget accountability in a growth-stage company — and demonstrated revenue outcomes, not just cost control.

Strong understanding of construction: residential or commercial build processes, project delivery, trades coordination, building-code fluency.

A proven organization builder: you have scaled teams, hired leaders, and kept the people you hired.

Hands-on automation credibility: you have specified, justified, and commissioned factory automation — not just supervised it.

Lean manufacturing depth (standard work, takt, quality-at-source) with the financial fluency to defend unit economics to a Board.

Contract and capital discipline: hands-on CCDC contract administration (CCDC 5A/B, CCDC 2, and CCDC 32 progressive design-build) and Ontario Construction Act fluency — holdbacks, prompt payment, lien-period management.

Lender-grade delivery: a track record executing projects under institutional lender or CMHC scrutiny — certified progress draws, milestone billing, and covenant awareness.

Multi-entity operating experience: you have run operations across a corporate group with arm's-length intercompany contracting and clean related-party discipline.

Public procurement: experience winning and delivering through government and institutional procurement — RFP/RFI responses and public-sector delivery frameworks.

An AI-literate operator: demonstrated adoption of AI and digital operating tools to run lean — at CABN, AI systems carry coordination, reporting, and billing mechanics, and the operating model depends on an executive who works that way.

Partnership credibility: demonstrated trust-building and delivery with First Nations, municipalities, and government partners.

Major assets: prefab/modular/offsite construction experience; homebuilding background; engineering, construction-management, or related technical education (MBA an asset); experience with government-funded innovation programs (NGen, SR&ED) and their audit-ready documentation; factory certification experience (CSA A277 or equivalent); apprenticeship or college training-pipeline building; formal safety-system credentials (COR, ISO 45001); cross-border manufacturing or US market delivery; exposure to regulated utility or infrastructure operations.

Compensation

Competitive base salary, a significant stock option grant, and a performance bonus deliberately engineered around revenue multiplication with a hard gross-margin gate and a scaled-execution scorecard — growth that erodes margin, safety, or build quality does not pay. Equity is the centrepiece: this role is designed so that the operator who multiplies and industrializes CABN participates meaningfully in the value created. Full details shared in process.

Location, On-Site Presence & Travel

This role is based at CABN's 85,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Brockville, Ontario. The mission is executed on the floor and in the field: a minimum of three days per week on-site in Brockville is a threshold requirement, established in the first conversation, with additional presence expected during production ramps and critical project phases.

Relocation and moving support is available for the right candidate — terms discussed at offer.

Regular travel to active project sites, partner communities, and supplier facilities is part of the role; business travel is covered under company policy.
