Civil Engineer FE/EIT/PE potable water/sanitary sewer
Strong experience in potable water and sanitary sewer systems is essential, with a proven background in the planning, design, and technical execution of water and wastewater treatment facilities. This includes hands-on involvement with key technical aspects of treatment plant design such as process selection and sizing, hydraulic modeling, treatment train layout, pump and pipeline design, storage and conveyance systems, chemical feed systems, and coordination of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical components. Experience with regulatory compliance, permitting, and adherence to state and federal standards is critical, along with the ability to develop detailed design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and support construction through commissioning.

Our client is looking for a Civil Engineer (EIT) to support a range of municipal water and sewer system projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist senior engineers in the design and implementation of municipal water and wastewater systems.

Perform technical analysis, including calculations, report writing, and cost estimation for a variety of infrastructure projects.

Work on projects involving water distribution systems, wastewater treatment facilities, potable water storage tanks, and sanitary sewer rehabilitation.

Collaborate on project planning, design specifications, and CAD-generated technical plans.

Contribute to water distribution modeling (familiarity with modeling software is a plus).

Help ensure regulatory compliance, permitting, and municipal reviews are met for each project.

Coordinate with internal teams and external clients to facilitate the timely execution of projects.
Required Skills & Experience:

EIT certification (Fundamentals of Engineering exam successfully completed).

2–3+ years of civil engineering experience, ideally with municipal infrastructure projects in New Jersey.

Knowledge of water distribution, wastewater treatment, pumping stations, and sewer rehabilitation systems.

Proficiency in design tools and modeling software.

Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a collaborative, solution-driven environment.
