Airframe Design Engineer – Product Development

Position Summary
Join the Product Development Integrated Product Team (IPT) supporting the Airframe Design Lead Engineer in the design and development of current and future aircraft. This role focuses on primary and secondary structural design, including CAD modeling, detail and assembly drawings, and installation documentation, with involvement from concept through certification.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual layouts, installation designs, and assembly/detail drawings using 3D CAD tools

• Create and revise Engineering Orders (EOs) to release updates and design changes

• Design to program requirements while supporting published schedules and timelines

• Coordinate with stress, aerodynamics, manufacturing, and supply chain teams

• Validate installations through analysis, simulation, and on-aircraft fit checks

• Support production and experimental teams with troubleshooting and issue resolution

• Participate in project, design, and program reviews

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or related field)

• Minimum 3 years of relevant engineering design experience

• General knowledge of aircraft design, manufacturing, and assembly processes

• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office

Preferred

• Experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter

• Knowledge of FAR Part 23 regulations

• Understanding of ANSI Y14.5 / GD&T practices
