Harvest Head Technician
HARVESTER HEAD TECHNICIAN
Summary/Objective
Under limited supervision, the Service Technician – Mechanic performs work of considerable difficulty in the repair and maintenance of logging machines, specifically harvester heads, at customer job sites.
Essential Functions

Diagnose, rebuild, and repair logging equipment

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Must have or be able to obtain a CDL license.
Supervisory Responsibility
No direct supervisory responsibilities; may serve as a coach or mentor.
Work Environment
Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, vibration, outdoor weather conditions, and loud environments.
Physical Demands
This is a highly active role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day. Must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Strong vision abilities required.
Position Type/Expected Hours
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Must be located in or able to travel to Rhinelander, WI as needed.
Travel
Regular travel to and from customer work sites required.
Required Education and Experience
-
Two-year heavy equipment technician degree or
-
Three years of heavy equipment repair experience

Equivalent combinations of education and experience considered
Preferred Qualifications
-
Hydraulics and electrical component experience
-
Ability to read schematics
-
Experience with acetylene and electric arc welding
Language Skills

Ability to read and write simple correspondence

Ability to present information clearly

Fluent in English
