Propulsion & Mechanical Systems Engineer

Position Summary
Support the Lead Engineer and Integrated Product Team (IPT) in the development and certification of aircraft propulsion systems. Responsibilities include CAD modeling, drawing creation, systems analysis, test planning/reporting, and coordination with production and experimental teams to ensure proper propulsion installation and functionality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop installation layouts, component designs, 3D models, drawings, and engineering documentation to FAA certification standards

  • Prepare certification data including specifications, test plans, and substantiation reports

  • Support vendor selection and ensure components meet design intent and regulatory requirements

  • Validate installations through analysis, simulation, and testing

  • Assist production and hangar teams with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues

  • Participate in design reviews, program reviews, and flight test briefings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Aerospace Engineering

  • 3+ years of experience in propulsion systems installation and FAA certification

  • Knowledge of aircraft design, analysis, testing, and FAA regulations

  • Proficiency in Siemens NX and Teamcenter

Preferred

  • Familiarity with FAR Part 23

  • Pilot experience or A&P certification is a plus
