Senior Auditor/ Audit Sr Manager Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: 

 Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Auditor to join our locations listed below. The Senior Auditor will be responsible for executing day-to-day audit activities, managing audit engagements, and ensuring compliance with both internal and external requirements. This role involves working closely with clients and team members to deliver high-quality audit services, preparing complex financial reports, and identifying opportunities for additional services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public accounting, excellent communication skills, and a high degree of professionalism.  The salary range for this position is $71,000 - $153,000, depending on experience and qualifications

Louisiana: Baton Rouge, Covington, Houma, Metairie

Texas: Houston

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Execute day-to-day activities of audit engagements for various clients.
·       Conduct audits using a team approach, coordinating with tax and advisory team members as needed.
·       Efficiently manage assurance team members, including planning engagements, coordinating with clients, reviewing team members' work, and assessing performance.
·       Maintain long-term client relationships through regular contact and engagement.
·       Ensure compliance with internal audit methodology, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
·       Identify and communicate accounting and auditing matters to managers and partners.
·       Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to new or existing clients.
·       Prepare complex financial reports, including statements, footnotes, and supplemental information.
·       Research complex accounting topics, form conclusions, and present findings to clients.
·       Coach and develop fellow staff members, including interns and senior associates.
·       Assist in the development and training of new staff and participate in recruiting for future hires.
 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

·       Working knowledge of GAAP, SAS, and audit procedures.
·       Proficiency with computer audit applications and technology.
·       Strong oral and written communication skills, with a professional approach to client interactions.
·       Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously while maintaining consistency and accuracy.
·       Ability to interact effectively with staff and clients’ internal accounting staff and business owners.
·       Willingness to participate in firm activities contributing to community philanthropic efforts.
·       High degree of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
·       Presentation skills necessary for confidently presenting at audit committee meetings, industry or trade associations, and office events.
 

Education and Experience: 

·       Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
·       CPA certification preferred.
·       3-5 years of public accounting experience with a national or regional firm, specifically in an Assurance Department at either the Staff or Senior level.

 

Physical Requirements: 

·       Frequent use of hands, wrists, and fingers associated with computer equipment.
·       Required to sit for extended periods of time.
·       Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
·       Normal visual acuity, ability to talk and hear.
·       Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
