POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently recruiting for a Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapist is responsible for implementing high-quality physical therapy services for patients, caregivers, and facilities with minimal supervision. This includes developing treatment plans, supervising assistants and aides, contributing to case management, and providing quality patient care. The position also involves maintaining positive relationships with facilities and clients, enhancing and expanding client relations. This full-time position is located in the Bay Area, CA!

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and adhere to the appropriate state Practice Act, governing how Physical Therapists may practice and whom they may supervise.
  • Review and comply with the Clients Clinical Operations Policies & Procedures Manual annually.
  • Complete all Medicare compliance trainings and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training as required.
  • Evaluate, treat, and direct skilled treatment for patients where physical therapy is medically necessary, documenting this need clearly.
  • Maintain ongoing documentation, ensuring goals, progress, and medical necessity are clearly stated.
  • Complete all required documentation (e.g., pre-certifications, physician reports, daily notes) legibly, appropriately, and promptly.
  • Maintain open and respectful communication with co-workers, physicians, patients, family members, and third-party payers.
  • Attend and/or participate in facility meetings as directed by the Center Manager.
  • Complete sufficient ongoing continuing education coursework to meet state licensure requirements.
 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Efficiently manage time to meet productivity requirements.
  • Participate in and present clinical in-services as directed.
  • Maintain awareness of general changes in the healthcare field and specific issues impacting physical therapy practice.
  • Play a significant role in specific areas of center operations as agreed upon with the Center Manager.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
 

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Leadership skills to direct and supervise the activities of assistants and aides, including coaching and teaching.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and planning skills.
  • Effective clinical problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and prioritize issues, develop innovative action plans, and ensure appropriate results.
  • Strong communication skills for accurate, concise, and organized presentations of information to patients and staff.
  • Proficiency in computer skills for clinical documentation and management reporting.
 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduation from a physical therapist education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) or a substantially equivalent education in the case of an internationally educated physical therapist.
  • State licensure/registration where applicable.
 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift patients using appropriate biomechanical techniques frequently throughout the workday; must be capable of lifting fifty (50) pounds of dead weight alone.
  • Ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during the workday.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to evaluate, diagnose, and monitor patient needs, and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions.
  • Ability to push wheeled equipment through the facility and in the community.
  • Possess fine motor skills for accurate and legible writing, charting, and handling of diagnostic or therapeutic equipment.
