We are hiring in Fort Worth NDT Level II Inspector (Fluorescent Penetrant & Magnetic Particle)

Monday-Friday 5am-1:30pm

Job Summary:

The NDT Level II Inspector is responsible for performing non-destructive testing (NDT) using Fluorescent Penetrant (FPI) and Magnetic Particle (MPI) methods to ensure forgings are produced in accordance with manufacturing plans and meet required industry and customer specifications. This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and receives daily workload priorities and safety direction from the Grinding Supervisor and/or Leadman.


Responsibilities:

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly equipment verifications for all assigned NDT inspection methods

  • Measure parts to verify conformance to engineering drawings and specification requirements

  • Inspect parts for discontinuities using Fluorescent Penetrant and Magnetic Particle testing methods

  • Identify and properly classify unacceptable discontinuities in accordance with industry and/or customer specifications

  • Accurately and timely document the execution of inspection plans

  • Maintain detailed records of inspection results, observations, and all identified quality issues

  • Communicate quality findings to Forge Supervisors, Leadmen, and the Quality Manager

    • Communication may include verbal instructions, Quality Assurance documentation, or written memos

  • Issue NDT certifications as evidence of completion and acceptance of required inspections

  • Develop written Magnetic Particle inspection techniques, including equipment setup and testing requirements

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety protocols

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a United States person

  • Proficient in English (verbal and written)

    • Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus but not required

  • High school diploma or GED required

    • Trade school certifications preferred but not required

  • Current NDT Level II certification (copies of certification required)

    • Completion of 40 hours of training by a certified NDT Level III Inspector

  • 1–2 years of experience as an NDT Level II Inspector with hands-on experience in both FPI and MPI

  • 1–3 years of manufacturing experience

    • Forging and/or aerospace experience preferred but not required

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints

  • Basic computer skills for completing electronic documentation

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The work environment may include exposure to hot and cold temperatures during summer and winter months.

Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required while working in the shop.
