- Communicate with key customers and serve as the point of contact for quality issues
- Determine root cause of quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Assist the manufacturing floor with quality issues and concerns
- Review control plans
- Complete weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for customers and management
- Assist operations and engineering with problem solving
- Monitor and update portals
- Champion formal problem solving teams
- Improve the gauge and SPC process
- Support new model launch activities
- Deliver related quality training
- Monitor and minimize scrap
- Utilize Minitab software
- Additional responsibilities as delegated by the manager
1. Ideally a Bachelor's degree; experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
2. At least four years of quality engineering experience in a mass production machining environment OR with a tier I or tier II automotive supplier
5. Document control experience, such as control plans, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, etc.
Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. ERP system experience
2. Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
3. Customer communication
