Fast paced manufacturer with a diverse business mix is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for an assigned area of the plant.  The Manufacturing Engineer will work within a collaborative team and will support a growing multi-shift operation.  Daily you will have the following responsibilities:
 
  • Support production by working to improve processes, including increasing efficiencies, decreasing scrap, and minimizing downtime 
  • Assist quality with completing projects related to root cause analysis, process controls, SPC data, etc. 
  • Utilize 2D and 3D modeling to improve line layouts and design fixtures and gauges
  • Assist with new product activities, documentation, blueprint reading, and launch readiness 
  • Support maintenance with troubleshooting mechanical and basic electrical issues
  • Communicate with operations and production associates to improve KPIs and production initiatives
  • Assist with creating work instructions and other manufacturing documentation
  • Support automation improvements
  • Oversee capital equipment projects, including cost justification, RFQs, timelines, and budgets
  • Other duties as directed by management
 
This position requires candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 75% of their day.  Candidates should be able to participate in team oriented projects, be detail oriented, be data driven, energetic and able to take ownership of projects.  This is a great position for someone that enjoys floor presence, is continuous improvement focused, and prefers a diverse engineering role!

Requirements for the Manufacturing Engineer:
1. Minimum of an Associate's degree; a Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred
2. At least two years of similar fast-paced manufacturing engineering experience
3. Experience initiating continuous improvement efforts 
4. Project management experience, including timeline management 
5. Mechanical aptitude 
6. Ability to read blueprints 
7. 2D and 3D modeling 
8. Microsoft Office, including Excel

Skills that are preferred, BUT NOT required:
1. Tooling experience 
2. Capital equipment project management 
3. Injection molding 
4. Automotive supplier experience 

Candidates are preferred to be local to the Kenton, Ohio area.
