Packaging Engineer II - Innovation & Development
This role supports packaging innovation, sustainability, and new product development within a global consumer products organization.
The scope is broad. You’ll be involved in everything from early-stage design through commercialization, working cross-functionally to bring packaging concepts to life. A significant portion of the role focuses on rebranding efforts, including updates to labels, components, and artwork across the portfolio.
You’ll work closely with internal teams, manufacturing sites, and external partners to move projects forward and ensure successful launches.
This team is focused on maintaining a consistent, premium brand presence across all packaging. Attention to detail matters throughout the full process, from development through documentation and specification management.
What You’ll Do
- Support global rebranding and packaging modernization initiatives
- Contribute to design, testing, and validation of new packaging solutions
- Provide input on materials and formats across primary and secondary packaging
- Manage timelines, tasks, and cost considerations to support on-time launches
- Develop and maintain packaging specifications, BOMs, and documentation
- Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and contract manufacturers
- Support packaging trials, pilots, and first production runs
- Source samples, quotes, and technical information for packaging components
- Assist with sustainability initiatives and regulatory requirements
- Conduct testing and support plant trials across multiple locations
- Take on additional responsibilities as projects evolve

Background
- 4–7 years of packaging engineering experience
- Experience supporting new product development and product launches
- Background in consumer products, food, or dietary supplements preferred
- Working knowledge of plastics, corrugated, labels, and paperboard
- Familiarity with packaging sustainability considerations
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering preferred
- Engineering degree with relevant packaging experience also considered
