Title: Faculty - Technical Educator 

Location: Kokomo, Indiana (onsite)

Compensation: $63k 

Overview:Our valued client is currently seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Technical Educator in Kokomo, Indiana. As a Technical Educator, you'll play a vital role in delivering engaging instructional sessions, imparting practical knowledge, and fostering hands-on learning experiences. Your expertise will be essential in creating an environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and skill development among students.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver assigned classes using effective pedagogy and relevant technology to support student learning, aligned with course objectives and program outcomes.

  • Develop and update curriculum and course materials to align with course objectives and program outcomes.

  • Maintain student records, attendance, and grades, ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.

  • Create a safe and productive classroom environment following federal, state, and college safety standards.

  • Guide students to attain program learning outcomes.

  • Utilize Learning Management System (e.g., Blackboard) for efficient teaching facilitation.

  • Offer academic coaching and monitoring for assigned student advisees in collaboration with academic advising staff.

  • Track and document student performance, utilizing technology for advising alerts and intervening as needed.

  • Maintain scheduled office and engagement hours as per campus and faculty policy.

  • Support student recruitment, retention, and program completion through outreach efforts.

  • Engage in professional development, including training, industry exposure, and self-study, to enhance instructional skills and field knowledge.

  • Contribute to scholarly pursuits aligned with the discipline, annual goals, and certification requirements.

  • Stay updated on modern teaching methods, digital technology, and relevant tools for effective student learning.

  • Engage in community service to strengthen college ties in the service area, building contacts within industries.

  • Offer institutional support through committee involvement, accreditation tasks, and grant projects.

  • Collaborate with Corporate College and Foundations.

  • Attend and participate in commencement ceremonies as assigned.

  • Attend college-wide and departmental meetings.

  • Take part in career services, alumni activities, and support program management.

  • Follow college and regional academic policies.

 

 

Requirements: 

A qualified adjunct faculty member, including Dual Credit, Workforce Alignment, and a full-time faculty teaching outside their discipline, meets the technical course standard through one of four routes:

• Meets the full-time faculty discipline standard

• Possesses a Department of Labor, Bureau for Apprenticeship Training

recognized journeyman’s card in the discipline directly related to

credentials, certifications, and competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR), and in

journeyman status for two years or more with experience that is

specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record

(COR)And, possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being

taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR)

or

• Possesses any specialized certifications or credentials required for the

class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR) And, 5 years directly related work experience in the field that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR); 

or

• Possesses a current Workplace Specialist License, Technology Education License (Technology and Engineering Education, Engineering and Technology Education), or CTE: Trade & Industrial Engineer or

Manufacturing License granted by the Indiana Department of Education

appropriate to course objectives and directly linked to credentials,

certifications, and competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR) And, possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being

taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR).
