Position Overview

Our client is seeking an highly motivated Project Recruiter / Internal Staffing Specialist
They will support the continued growth of our heavy civil construction operations. This individual will be responsible for recruiting, staffing, and retaining qualified personnel for large-scale earthwork, civil, utility, demolition, and site-development projects.

The ideal candidate understands the fast-paced nature of construction, communicates well with field and office leadership, and can build a dependable pipeline of skilled employees to meet changing project demands. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving workforce challenges, and directly contributing to the success of major construction projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

? Recruit qualified field and project personnel for current and upcoming construction projects.

? Source heavy equipment operators, laborers, pipe crews, foremen, superintendents, mechanics, survey

personnel, project engineers, and project management staff.

? Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates through job boards, social media, referrals,

direct outreach, trade schools, and industry contacts.

? Coordinate interviews, employment offers, onboarding, and pre-employment requirements.

? Work closely with project managers and company leadership to forecast staffing needs and hiring priorities.

? Build relationships with employees, workforce organizations, recruiters, schools, and construction-industry

partners.

? Assist with employee retention, workforce planning, and communication of advancement opportunities.

? Track open positions, candidate status, recruiting activity, and hiring results.

? Maintain confidentiality and professionalism throughout the recruiting and hiring process.

 

Preferred Qualifications

? Previous high-volume recruiting for construction staffing, & workforce-development experience.

? Construction recruiting experience is required.

? Knowledge of heavy earthwork, civil construction, underground utilities, demolition, or site development is extremely

beneficial.

? Strong communication, organization, follow-through, and relationship-building skills.

? Ability to identify qualified candidates and move quickly through the hiring process.

? Comfortable working independently while coordinating closely with company leadership and project teams.

? Willingness to travel periodically to project sites, hiring events, or recruiting functions.
