CNC Machine Operator II

Location: Vernon, CT
Schedule: Full-Time
Pay Range: $26.00 – $34.00/hour (based on experience)

The CNC Machine Operator II will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of CNC machines, including lathes, mills, multi-turret, and mill-turn equipment.

This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, multi-turret, and mill-turn machines
  • Work with HAAS, Okuma, and/or Fanuc controls
  • Perform both standard and complex machine setups
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
  • Make program edits and adjustments as needed
  • Create, grind, and maintain tooling
  • Operate multiple machines simultaneously when required
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
  • Follow written procedures and document process changes

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience
  • 3–5 years of experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and mills
  • Experience with HAAS, Okuma, and/or Fanuc controls
  • Strong blueprint reading skills
  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools
  • Ability to perform complex setups independently
  • Solid shop math skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • High-mix, high-setup manufacturing environments
  • Operating multiple machines simultaneously
  • Experience with mill-turn and multi-turret equipment
