A growing hospice organization is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Clinical Director to lead hospice clinical operations for a Northern California market covering Marin and Sonoma Counties. This is a strong opportunity for a hospice RN leader who brings clinical credibility, supervisory experience, operational discipline, and a hands-on approach to team leadership.

Compensation

$155,000-$165,000 base salary range

Bonus

Eligible for quarterly bonus program up to 10% of base salary

Role Overview

The Clinical Director will provide leadership to an interdisciplinary hospice team and will be responsible for clinical oversight, quality, compliance, staff development, care coordination, chart audit discipline, and survey readiness. This leader will work closely with the Program Director / Executive Director, hospice physician, community liaisons, nursing team, aides, social workers, chaplains, and other interdisciplinary colleagues.

·   Strong hospice clinical leadership and supervisory experience.

·   Demonstrated operational excellence, compliance strength, and survey process knowledge.

·   Ability to support clinical staff in the office and in the field as needed.

·   Hands-on leadership style with strong emotional intelligence and team-development ability.

·   Ability to manage terminal care, crisis intervention, pain and symptom control, and family support with clinical confidence.

Key Responsibilities

·   Lead and support an interdisciplinary hospice team providing patient-centered end-of-life care.

·   Coordinate and oversee patient services in alignment with hospice program policies and regulatory expectations.

·   Conduct chart audits and support medical record quality, timeliness, and compliance.

·   Participate in orientation, in-service education, and ongoing training for clinical staff.

·   Evaluate, coach, counsel, and develop clinical colleagues to improve performance and service delivery.

·   Lead or participate in IDT meetings to review patient/family care plans and resolve clinical challenges.

·   Collaborate with operational, physician, and liaison partners to support quality care, census management, and referral responsiveness.

·   Participate in after-hours clinical/on-call leadership rotation.

Qualifications

·   Current unencumbered Registered Nurse license.

·   Bachelor's degree in nursing strongly preferred.

·   Minimum two years of recent direct patient care experience in hospice, home health, or community health.

·   Minimum one year of supervisory experience.

·   Hospice experience strongly preferred; strong home health leadership experience may be considered.

·   Experience with compliance, survey process, chart audits, EMR systems, and clinical quality oversight.

·   Current CPR certification.

·   Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and dependable transportation.
