We are partnered with an incredible machine tool distributor on their search for an onsite Business Development Representative in Charlotte, NC. This person will support strategic growth across targeted manufacturing accounts and markets, identify new business opportunities, expand relationships within strategic accounts, and generate qualified opportunities for the regional sales team.

The ideal Business Development Representative is proactive, relationship-driven, and comfortable connecting with manufacturing companies through research, outbound outreach, networking, and in-person engagement. This role is perfect for someone who is organized, curious about manufacturing technology, and capable of turning market intelligence into actionable sales opportunities.

 

Responsibilities:

·       Identify and develop relationships within strategically targeted manufacturing accounts.
·       Research prospective accounts, develop contacts, and map buying centers to uncover new opportunities.
·       Execute outbound prospecting through phone calls, emails, networking, social selling, and customer visits.
·       Generate and qualify new opportunities for account managers and regional sales representatives.
·       Support account-based marketing initiatives and targeted customer engagement campaigns.
·       Analyze market data, UCC filings, industry reports, CRM activity, and other intelligence sources to identify potential opportunities and market trends.
·       Collaborate with sales leadership, marketing, account managers, and product specialists to develop account-growth strategies.
·       Build relationships with trade associations, economic development organizations, technical schools, and other industry groups.
·       Maintain accurate prospect, account, and activity information within CRM and prospecting platforms.

 

Requirements:

·       2+ years of experience in business development, sales, account management, lead generation, or a related role.
·       Experience within manufacturing, industrial equipment, CNC machine tools, automation, or another technical sales environment is highly desirable
·       Ability to build rapport quickly by phone, virtually, and in person.
·       Proven comfort with outbound prospecting and developing new business relationships.
·       Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills.
·       Ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, and follow-up activities.
·       Experience using CRM systems, prospecting platforms, and market-intelligence tools.
·       Technical curiosity and the ability to learn manufacturing technologies and applications.
·       Proactive, resilient, collaborative, and customer-focused approach.
·       Willing and able to work 100% onsite in Charlotte, NC
